Let's Back it Up a Bit

As many of you know, I recently (a month and a half ago) went to Tonga! If you haven't yet seen them, check out my pics by clicking on the following image:

Ryan and I spent 9 days travelling around the main island and out to the middle group of islands called Ha'apai. It was a crazy culture shock filled with new types of food, people, hygiene levels, passtimes and even new ideas of beauty. We saw beautiful beaches and walked through dark canopies of tropical trees. We saw colourful parrots and a pluthera of pigs and dogs, both wild and domesticated. There are pigs everywhere, even on the beach! Some of the food was a little strange... not as "Tongan" as we were expecting. One meal we ate included a bowl of hotdogs chopped up and mixed in with instant noodles... mmmmm, fantastic! ha.

Enjoy the photos, and if you want to know more after reading all those captions, drop me a line!

The weather here is freezing cold! I have my iGoogle set up to show me the weather both here and in Victoria... I'm very jealous of your 32 degrees today. It's high of 11 degrees here with showers and wind...

My temp position has been extended again and so I will be here working at MWH at least until the end of next week, YEAH MONEY!! I have no idea where it keeps disappearing to...
